MESA, Ariz. (AP) — Mesa police say they’ve arrested a 35-year-old man after a Cybertruck reportedly went up in flames early Monday at a Tesla dealership.
Firefighters responded around 2 a.m. to reports of an explosion at the dealership near Hampton and Southern avenues, just west of Sossaman Road. They quickly got the fire in the electric pickup truck under control before it could spread to the battery or the building. Authorities said there was no danger to the public.
Video from the scene appeared to show graffiti on a wall that misspelled “THIEF.”
During their investigation, officers located a suspicious van near Southern and Rowan avenues. They watched as Ian Moses, 35, arrived on a bicycle and opened the van’s door, according to police.
