Eighteen-year-old Joshua G., a member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale, received the surprise of a lifetime on April 28 when he was named the national “Fan Favorite” winner of the Cox Mobile Case Design Contest and awarded a $5,000 scholarship.
Joshua’s winning phone case design was selected by public vote from among 21 finalists across the country. The contest, themed “A World Within Reach,” invited teen members from Boys & Girls Clubs in Cox service areas to create artwork highlighting the impact of digital access and connectivity on education, creativity and innovation.
The surprise announcement took place at the Virginia G. Piper Branch in Scottsdale, where Joshua believed he was simply posing for photos. Instead, he was greeted with applause, congratulations and a scholarship presented by Susan Anable, vice president of Cox’s Phoenix market…
