Glendale man sentenced to life for 2019 murders of girlfriend, 4-year-old girl

GLENDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — The man convicted of killing his girlfriend and her 4-year-old daughter in Glendale six years ago learned his punishment on Wednesday.

Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell said that 30-year-old Brandon Andres Bautista Torres was sentenced to natural life in prison for the murders of 19-year-old Selina Toyos and her daughter, Aleena Bermudez.

“This was a horrific and cowardly act of domestic violence that claimed two innocent lives,” Mitchell said in a statement. “He no longer deserves the chance to walk freely in this community. I’m truly grateful to the Glendale Police Department and my prosecutors at MCAO who made sure he will spend his life where he belongs.”

In June 2019, police say Torres called 911 and claimed an intruder broke into his Glendale home, located near 59th and Missouri avenues, and shot his girlfriend and her daughter.
