TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — An Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) trooper is recovering after being hit by a wrong-way driver on Saturday night.
Around 10:50 p.m., a trooper was driving west on Rio Salado Parkway when he saw another vehicle coming straight toward him in the opposite direction. The vehicle went into the right lane to pass, which is when the trooper swerved to block the lane. The two cars collided head-on.
