Train hits, kills Chandler woman in Flagstaff

A 22-year-old Chandler woman was walking along railroad tracks over the weekend in Flagstaff when she was struck by a train and killed, police said.

Lily Tantillo died at the scene after she was hit at about 12:30 a.m. July 5 just east of the intersection of East Route 66 and Switzer Canyon Boulevard, according to a release from the Flagstaff Police Department.

The train crew indicated that Tantillo was walking east on the tracks, facing away from the eastbound train, the release stated, adding it was in an area not designated for pedestrian use…
