GOODYEAR, AZ (AZFamily) — The daughter of a Goodyear fire captain who was rescued from a burning vehicle two months ago is now out of the hospital, beginning the road to recovery.
On Thursday, firefighters from Goodyear and Tolleson gathered at the Diane & Bruce Halle Arizona Burn Center to greet Asharie Cheatham, daughter of Goodyear Fire Capt. Simeon Cheatham.
Asharie has been in the burn center since May 25, when she was pulled from a burning vehicle by Goodyear Police Officer Dakota Berry. Tolleson firefighters who responded to the fire that day were also in attendance to greet Asharie as she was discharged from the hospital.
“Asharie is the daughter of our very own Captain Cheatham, and seeing her beautiful smile and resilient spirit walk out those doors meant the world to all of us,” Goodyear Fire posted on Facebook. “We’re so grateful to see her recover so quickly and wish her all the strength as she continues her healing journey.”…
