Banner Health to Boost Arizona’s Healthcare Arsenal with $400 Million Medical Campus in North Scottsdale

Phoenix-based Banner Health, the state’s largest health system, plans to build a $400 million medical campus in north Scottsdale. They have applied for a conditional use permit to construct a 640,000-square-foot hospital at the southwest corner of Hayden Road and Loop 101. This information was included in a July 14 filing with the city of Scottsdale, according to ABC15.

Banner Health bought a 48-acre vacant lot in March 2023 for $57.6 million in cash, Tempe-based real estate database Vizzda LLC confirmed. The company plans to build a 300-bed hospital on the site as the second phase of its project in Scottsdale. The first phase began in May with the start of construction on a 120,000-square-foot Banner Health Care Plus facility, which is expected to open by early 2027…
