Gilbert police cover medical care for dog wounded during deadly shooting

GILBERT, AZ (AZFamily) — A family dog is now recovering, thanks to the help of Gilbert police officers, after he was injured in a shooting that left his owner dead last month.

On the evening of Aug. 12, officers responded to the InTown Suites Extended Stay near Country Club Drive and Guadalupe Road. Police found a woman, later identified as 39-year-old Jessica Brewer, who had been shot while seated in a car in the parking lot. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
