On Sept. 12, Hermès unveiled its first Arizona boutique at Scottsdale Fashion Square, marking the luxury brand’s 42nd store in the United States. The newly opened boutique, which spans two levels, welcomes both longtime clients and newcomers to discover its contemporary creations that span beauty to silk scarves to home collections.
The architecture of Hermès Scottsdale evokes the warmth and textures of the desert landscape that surrounds. Designed by Parisian architecture agency RDAI, tonal pastels, shimmering metallics, and desert-inspired forms shape an immersive experience for shoppers. Ceramic tiles in sun-kissed tones, crafted in Mexico, ripple along the façade, mimicking the curves and ridges of local cacti. This interplay of organic textures and muted colors creates a welcoming experience for visitors.
Inside, soft pastels and golden hues reflect Arizona’s light, guiding guests through Hermès’ 16 métiers. At the entrance, silk scarves, perfumes, beauty products, and fashion jewelry are artfully arranged under the brand’s signature Grecques lighting and terrazzo ex-libris. Ochre-studded stone floors lead to polished stucco alcoves housing the home and equestrian collections.
A standout feature is the soaring, double-height atrium, where natural light streams through sleek copper slats. A floating mezzanine showcases leather goods, watches, and jewelry within lacquered cherry wood cabinetry. The men’s collections are highlighted by pale blue tones nearby. A staircase inspired by cactus geometry, with amber balustrades, leads visitors to the lower level, dedicated to women’s shoes and ready-to-wear.
Adding cultural richness to the stunning space, the store features a curated selection of artworks from the Émile Hermès Collection and Hermès Collection of Contemporary Photographs. Highlights include classic leather riding boots illustrating Xavier de Poret’s À Propos de Bottes carré, Antoine de La Boulaye’s painting Le Cavalier, and Jane Evelyn Atwood’s striking black-and-white Horses series…
