New law prohibits standing on traffic medians in Scottsdale

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Standing on traffic medians will be against the law in Scottsdale, effective Thursday.

Under the median safety ordinance, loitering on traffic medians in a 30-mile-per-hour zone or higher will be a Class 3 misdemeanor.

Enforcement for a Class 3 misdemeanor can lead to:

  • 30 days in jail
  • $500 citation
  • One year probation
