AG Kris Mayes Teams Up with Local Law Enforcement for ‘Missing in Arizona’ Awareness Event at ASU

Arizona’s Attorney General Kris Mayes has joined forces with local law enforcement, including Pinal and Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Offices, to shine a light on an issue that grips families with uncertainty: the disappearance of loved ones. In an effort to raise awareness and provide much-needed support, Arizona will witness the ‘Missing in Arizona’ event on October 18th, as reported by azag.gov.

Set to take place at Arizona State University’s West Valley Campus, the community-focused initiative aims to bridge the gap between the long-term missing and their families. “I’m proud to partner with other Arizona law enforcement agencies to bring awareness to the issue of Arizonans who have gone missing,” Attorney General Mayes told azag.gov. The free event is family-friendly and starts at 10 am, lasting until 4 pm. Participants with missing loved ones have been encouraged to bring key identifiers, ranging from photographs to medical records, to assist in the ongoing efforts to resolve cases.

Additionally, as part of the day’s proceedings, officials will collect DNA samples from family members, hoping to construct valuable profiles of those missing.
