The Phoenix Zoo was one of the areas in East Phoenix and Tempe that was severely affected by the microburst storm on Monday, Oct. 13. Because of such severe damage, the zoo is calling for donations to the recovery fund to assist with over $300,000 in damage and operations while areas are closed to the public through Friday, Oct. 17.
The zoo said that no people or animals were harmed during the storm; however, there was significant damage, but the park is grateful for the dedicated staff and volunteers who help keep animals safe and clean debris from the area.
