‘We put out the bat signal’: How local game shops helped police nab thief accused of stealing $9,000 worth of trading cards

MESA, Ariz. — Two masked men are accused of stealing nearly $9,000 in trading cards from a Mesa game store in just 30 seconds, but one suspect’s attempt to sell the stolen merchandise led to his arrest.

Jason Tatman, 40, was arrested by Mesa Police Dec. 5 in connection with the Oct. 18 burglary at Ronin Games, located at 1337 S. Gilbert Road. A second suspect remains at large.
