Wildlife advocates report surge in animal-vehicle collisions across Arizona

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Wildlife advocates are reporting an increasing number of wild animals getting hit and killed by cars on Arizona roadways in recent months.

Southwest Wildlife in Scottsdale has seen 108 cases of animals hit by cars within the last three months, according to rescue officials.

“We get animals in almost every day from the wild, from neighborhoods that have been injured, orphaned, sick in some way,” said Kim Carr, who is in charge of taking care of the animals at Southwest Wildlife. “We’ve got a great clinic that tries to fix them up.”
