Resident collapses after exiting burning garage in north Scottsdale

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — One person was airlifted to a hospital Friday after collapsing during a house fire in north Scottsdale, officials say.

Rural Metro Fire was dispatched on Dec. 19 at about 2:30 p.m. to a 911 call about a fire that started in the garage of a residence in the Rio Verde Corridor.

RMF said the property’s occupants evacuated but one individual re-entered the residence in an attempt to extinguish the flames. As firefighters arrived on scene, the individual exited and collapsed due to a medical episode…
