Argument leads to gunpoint confrontation at Chandler Fashion Center; 3 arrested

CHANDLER, AZ (AZFamily) — Investigators say an argument at the Chandler Fashion Center ended with two young men pointing their guns at the alleged instigator earlier this week.

On Monday around 8:45 p.m., Chandler police received a report of two young men armed with guns threatening another man near the food court at the mall. Officers arrived and found all three arguing in a nearby store.

Investigators immediately took the two young men, identified as 19-year-old Jalen Bails-Bacchus and 22-year-old Jeremiah Bagby, into custody since they were armed.

Through witness interviews and surveillance video, officers say the incident started when 53-year-old John Lathrop approached the young men and threatened to assault them.
