PARADISE VALLEY, AZ (AZFamily) — The Paradise Valley Unified School District board voted unanimously to fire its superintendent, Dr. C. Todd Cummings, in a special meeting on Tuesday night. Cummings was placed on paid administrative leave since September while a third-party investigator looked into a complaint against him.
Arizona’s Family Investigates first reported in December, the board accepted what it called a “statement of charges” from the investigation into Cummings and noted its intent to fire him. Cummings filed an appeal and requested a closed-door hearing that was held in January.
The board heard results from that hearing on Tuesday, including that witnesses called were found to be credible, and Cummings, the district’s superintendent, was not found to be credible. The board was also told Cummings did not testify on his own behalf in the hearing.
