Frank & Lupe’s Old Mexico, the longstanding restaurant that served classic dishes since 1995, sadly closed its doors last year. Now, the restaurant will reopen at a new Scottsdale address.
The restaurant, under the care of owner Piero Aviles, will reopen this spring at Gainey Ranch, at 8787 N. Scottsdale Road.
The original Frank & Lupe’s opened in New Mexico in 1980. In 1995, the eponymous owners, Frank & Lupe Bernal, opened their Old Town Scottsdale restaurant in 1995. The family affair, run by sons Teddy and Eddie, expanded with an additional location in 2017. In 2020, tragedy struck the Bernal family, with both Teddy and Eddie dying months apart.
