For generations, Frank & Lupe’s has been more than a place to grab enchiladas and a margarita. It’s been a gathering spot where New Mexico flavor meets Arizona spirit, where regulars are greeted like family. This spring, the Old Town favorite is relocating to Gainey Ranch while keeping its soul intact under new ownership, with founder Maria “Lupe” Bernal’s legacy still guiding the kitchen.
“Frank & Lupe’s has always been about heart, hospitality, and honest food,” said new owner Piero Aviles, who will oversee the Gainey Ranch opening. “We’re not changing what works. Lupe’s recipes, her traditions, and her standards are still at the center of everything we do.”
That promise is good news for loyal fans who have made the restaurant part of their traditions. The recipes that began generations ago in Socorro, New Mexico remain at the core of the menu, still made from scratch daily under Lupe’s guidance. Signature enchiladas, fajitas, and the fiery green chile dishes that built the restaurant’s reputation aren’t going anywhere. Guests can expect seasonal features inspired by Lupe’s original menu – a thoughtful nod to the past with an eye toward what’s next…
