Investigators believe a 38-year-old Bremerton man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after a shootout with Kitsap County Sheriff’s deputies.
Deputies responded around 8:45 p.m. Monday to a home in the 8400 block of Northwest Wildcat Lake Road near Bremerton after a woman reported a man possibly under the influence of methamphetamine had assaulted her and staged weapons throughout the home while talking about “shooting it out with law enforcement,” McCarty said. The 40-year-old woman was able to leave the residence safely shortly after deputies arrived.
