‘They just dumped the rocks’; Puyallup spends $7,000 on boulders to deter homeless people

PUYALLUP, Wash. – The City of Puyallup spent over $7,000 on hundreds of rocks now strategically placed along Spring Street. Initially, the city justified the purchase by saying the obstructions were meant to protect damaged vegetation. Many locals argue that’s nothing more than a white lie-the strip of city-owned land where the boulders were placed is right across from the New Hope Resource Center.
