A traffic stop on Thursday, June 27, 2024, led to a foot chase and the apprehension of two suspects in Des Moines, police said.
A local police officer initiated the stop after noticing a vehicle without license plates. The vehicle attempted to flee but was forced to stop due to a mechanical failure.
Upon stopping, the occupants fled on foot. The officer pursued, suspecting the vehicle was stolen.
Two of the occupants, including the driver, were captured.
Criminal charges are pending.
