A trough Tuesday night bringing a weak warm front interjecting through the atmosphere with overnight mixed showers, and cool midweek temps. Light lowland snow and freezing rain is expected overnight Tuesday into Wednesday with snow accumulations near Yakima and Ellensburg at 1-2″ by Wednesday afternoon. Tri-Cities will see .5-1.5″ with a light glaze of ice from freezing rain.
An expanding ridge behind Tuesday night’s shortwave will kick off drier conditions Wednesday afternoon through Friday. Gradual warming through the end of the week will lead to a gloomy, but warmer weekend with highs near 50 degrees by Saturday and possibly the mid 50s by Sunday. A strong southerly flow picks up as a trough moves across southern British Columbia Saturday bringing gusty winds and showers through the weekend.
The ridge to our south keeps a strong southerly flow through the beginning of next week as it expands into the region to bring temps near 60° for the beginning of the week with sunshine returning and lows warming to the mid and low 30s after a warm weekend.
