SEATTLE — A number of national retail store chains have contracted in recent months, prompting closures of locations across western Washington.
Some of these companies have sought bankruptcy protections while others have simply scaled back their physical store footprint amid evolving consumer demand.
Here are some of the national store chains that have announced closures or liquidations in the Seattle area.
Joann
The craft retailer initially announced plans in January to close about 500 of its 800 U.S. locations as it filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection.
