Green Hill School employee describes attack by juvenile offender

CHEHALIS, Wash. — Despite a multi-billion dollar budget deficit, Washington state legislators and Gov. Bob Ferguson support increasing funding for the state’s juvenile rehabilitation program.

Holly Beecher hopes it will prevent incidents like what happened to her last June. Beecher was assaulted by a 17-year-old juvenile offender at Green Hill School. Dezmen Belgarde had five years added to his sentence for the attack.

Beecher said she was alone with the juvenile when he pulled her to the ground and repeatedly punched her in the head as he tried stealing her keys…
