A 45-year-old Kent woman died while in custody at the City of Kent Corrections Facility, 1230 Central Ave. S.
At about 8:05 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, a corrections officer found a nonresponsive inmate in a holding cell, according to an April 22 Kent Police news release. The woman was found unconscious and not breathing. Officers called 911 for medics and began CPR. Despite their efforts, the woman did not survive.
