Southbound I-5 lanes reopened after fatal collision near SR 18 causes 3-mile backup

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — A collision on southbound Interstate 5, just south of State Route 18, resulted in a fatality and caused significant traffic disruptions Friday evening.

According to WSP, a pedestrian was attempting to cross the southbound lanes when they were struck by a vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene to cooperate with the investigation, and no impairment is suspected, WSP noted…
