SEATTLE — The University of Washington Police Department said it has made 33 criminal referrals to the King County Prosecutor’s Office related to the vandalism and occupation of an engineering building on campus last month, although the prosecutor’s office disputed the statement Friday.
On May 5, a pro-Palestinian group took over the Interdisciplinary Engineering Building on campus before being physically removed by police. The UW said the group was responsible for $1 million in damages and suspended 21 students in the aftermath.
