Prepare for increased ferry traffic this weekend

Washington State Ferries is preparing for nearly 400,000 travelers over the Independence Day weekend, making it likely the busiest ridership stretch of the year. The heaviest vehicle traffic is expected westbound from Wednesday through Friday, and eastbound on Saturday and Sunday. Eighteen ferries will be in service to handle the surge.

On July 4th, the Edmonds/Kingston route will see a few holiday schedule changes, while Seattle/Bainbridge and Fauntleroy/Vashon/Southworth routes will operate on weekend timetables. All other routes will follow their standard Friday schedules…
