Seattle’s Real Time Crime Center helps change modern policing with high-tech surveillance

SEATTLE — The Seattle Police Department’s Real Time Crime Center is changing modern policing in the city, with live video feeds monitoring areas of high criminal activity.

SPD Captain James Britt explained the center’s capabilities, saying, “We’re able to actually provide officers with still images. If it occurred in view of one of our cameras, we can actually provide still images of the subject involved directly onto the screen of the responding units.”
