The Jack in the Box on University Way Northeast will permanently close Sept. 10 alongside multiple other “underperforming locations” in the Seattle and Tukwila area. Twelve employees will lose their jobs at the U-District restaurant.
The company filed a worker adjustment and retraining notification (WARN) with Washington state on July 14, reporting the closures and impacted positions.
Jack in the Box confirmed in July that the closures are part of its nationwide “JACK on Track” initiative, a plan to shut down 150 to 200 underperforming restaurants over the next two years. Between 80 and 120 closures are expected before the end of 2025, with more to follow in 2026…
