250 Walmart workers must transfer or lose jobs as Federal Way ‘general store’ closes

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — Around 250 Walmart employees could lose their jobs if they decline to transfer to another store when the retailer closes a Federal Way location at the end of October.

The company filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification with the state Employment Security Department indicating 253 workers would be affected. Walmart plans to close its general store, including the pharmacy, located at 1900 S. 314th St. on Oct. 31.
