Bremerton Foodline braces for continued demand despite end of government shutdown in sight

BREMERTON, Wash. — With an end to the government shutdown now in sight, there’s some much-needed relief for federal workers and local food banks trying to help hundreds of families get through this period of uncertainty.

Officials with Bremerton Foodline told KOMO News they saw an even bigger impact than other communities because of the thousands locally who work at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and aren’t getting a paycheck.

Though there may be relief coming, food bank officials still anticipate that families will need assistance in the coming months…
