Authorities are making a public appeal for witnesses after a deadly hit-and-run incident that took place last month on a South Seattle freeway. The Washington State Patrol has issued an update stating that the collision involved a car, another vehicle, and a motorcycle, resulting in a fatality. This tragic incident happened late at night on September 13, 2025, with emergency services receiving calls around 11:40 pm about a serious collision on SB SR 509 near Meyers Way, reported by the Washington State Patrol.
According to the preliminary investigation, there was a chain-reaction crash started by a white passenger car that was allegedly driving erratically before it collided with the motorcycle. The impact forced the rider off the bike, after which a gray vehicle also struck the motorcycle. Yet after the havoc, the white car that initially caused the accident fled the scene and exited to Meyers Way. The WSP has discovered parts of the responsible vehicle at the site of the crash, indicative of front and rear-end damage. Notably, the discarded bumper is a curious metallic blue underneath a layer of white paint.
Investigators are now focusing on piecing together the events and tracking down the driver responsible for the hit-and-run.
