Driver arrested for DUI after passing, rolling car in Central Kitsap

A 36-year-old Bremerton woman is suspected of being drunk when she rolled an SUV she was driving on McWilliams Road at Central Valley Road and NW 64th Street on Jan. 15.

The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office said the woman was driving west on McWilliams Road around 12:30 p.m. KCSO deputies estimated she was driving about 45 mph, and the suspect admitted to passing a car as she approached Central Valley Road, then lost control trying to make a turn. The SUV rolled over on the driver’s side in the intersection.

The woman told deputies she was rushing to get to work, and admitted to having two drinks between 9 and 10:30 a.m., KCSO reported. Her blood-alcohol content at the scene was measured at more than twice the legal limit of 0.08, KCSO said. KCSO spokesman Kevin McCarty told the Kitsap Sun the suspect was evaluated for injuries by medics at the scene, then taken to Kitsap County Jail…
