Edmonds group advocating for city manager form of government postpones March 29 town hall

An Edmonds group that is pushing to change the City of Edmonds from its existing council/mayor form of government to one governed by a council/city manager has postponed a town hall that had been scheduled for Sunday, March 29.

In a council/manager form of government, the city council – not voters – chooses the manager who runs the city. The manager is generally a professional administrator and is not required to be a resident.

The group proposing this change plans to launch a signature drive to put the initiative on the November 2026 ballot. Organizers had planned to talk about the mechanics of that process at Sunday’s meeting, but organizer Theresa Hollis said: “We have received feedback from the community that the planned topic for the March 29 town hall is not quite what people want to discuss now.”…
