The Seattle Department of Transportation will test temporary traffic diverters in the Lake City neighborhood this spring to cut down on drivers using residential streets as shortcuts. The barriers will be placed at NE 123rd St & 28th Ave NE and NE 123rd St & Hiram Pl NE.
The test will run from spring through summer 2026, with community feedback collected during that time. Results will help decide whether to make the diverters permanent in 2027, when other traffic calming features like speed humps are also planned…
