Sounder commuter train service canceled until April 6 due to landslide

A landslide on the tracks between Edmonds and Mukilteo has canceled Sound Transit Sounder commuter train service until Monday, April 6.

According to Sound Transit, the landslide occurred at approximately 7:50 a.m. Thursday April 2 near milepost 26.4 between Edmonds and Mukilteo, resulting in debris covering both BNSF mainline tracks. There is no reported damage to Sound Transit property.

“In accordance with BNSF safety protocols, a 48-hour moratorium on passenger train operations has been implemented following the slide,” Sound Transit said. “As a result, N Line service is suspended until the morning of Monday, April 6.”…
