Bothell High students plan walkout after board vote to end SRO contract in 2026-27

BOTHELL, Wash. — Students at Bothell High School said they don’t feel like their voices were heard in a recent vote by the Northshore School Board to eliminate the school’s longstanding school resource officer (SRO) program.

On Monday, four out of five board directors voted not to renew Officer Garrett Ware’s contract for the 2026-27 school year.

State law requires the district to review its SRO program and have the board vote on it annually…
