SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – Following community outcry, Bossier City has announced the official reopening date for a community pool.
In late April 2026, the city announced Mike Woods Pool would close due to low attendance, saying it was difficult to justify continued operations. City officials also cited a shortage of lifeguards as a reason for closing the pool.
After residents pushed back, the city proposed a partnership with Rock Solid Athletic Club, Inc. to keep the pool open and add a swim program expected to serve hundreds of community members…
