I usually frequent (and write about) locally-owned businesses, but I recently decided to check out six “chain” sandwich shops in Shreveport and Bossier to see what was offered. I wondered how similar or different they would be in taste, customer service, and vibe.
At each of these places, you order at the counter and select your own seat. I ordered similar sandwiches from each menu—ham or turkey (or both) with cheese and veggies on white bread.
Jason’s Deli
At Jason’s, I tried the Amy’s Turkey-O sandwich off the specialty sandwich list which is roasted turkey breast, sliced avocado, jalapeño pepper jack, red onions, Roma tomatoes, leafy lettuce, and stone-ground mustard on a toasted everything bun.
I did not expect such an extremely high quality product where each and every part—including the very important sliced avocado and ripe tomato and special bread—was the epitome of fresh and flavorful…
