Shreveport welcoming 2 families to new homes, with 6 more on the way before end of year

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – The City of Shreveport’s Department of Community Development is welcoming two families to their newly built homes this Thursday (July 16).

The houses were built with money from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Just over $2,000,000 was provided for the construction projects.

“Safe, quality housing provides stability for families and helps strengthen neighborhoods,” said Mayor Tom Arceneaux. “Our Community Development Department continues to make good use of available federal resources to create opportunities for Shreveport families and invest in the long-term strength of our neighborhoods.
