Shreveport has joined other cities around the state and country suing manufacturers over an alleged scheme to inflate the price of firetrucks.
Through an outside attorney last week, the City of Shreveport filed a lawsuit against Ferrara Fire Apparatus, a Livingston Parish manufacturer of firefighting apparatus, and other firetruck builders. The city is accusing the companies of colluding to keep their prices artificially high.
The city has hired Fishman Haygood LLP, the law firm at which former Gov. John Bel Edwards is a partner, and Pettiette, Armand, Dunkelman, Woodley and Cromwell, LLP to manage its lawsuit against the manufacturers. Fishman Haygood is representing Baton Rouge in a similar lawsuit…
