SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – The Shreveport community gathered Wednesday evening to honor 13-year-old Sha’Michael Russell, who died shielding his 2-year-old sister from gunfire at the Olde Salem Village Apartments.
Russell was killed in a shooting at the apartment complex last week. He was an innocent bystander and one of three juveniles struck by gunfire near the complex basketball court.
Family remembers him as a hero
R’Zelius Russell, Sha’Michael’s brother, said seeing his brother’s body was difficult.
“When you see his body, you see him on the corner, it’s sad about how your brother just lost his life over a dude,” R’Zelius Russell said…
