DeSoto Parish Woman Escapes Dining Room Table After Snake Removal

A DeSoto Parish woman was finally able to climb off the top of her dining room table and she’s got the amazing deputies of the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Department to thank for rescuing her from a somewhat comical predicament.

Taking to social media, the DPSO relayed to us the harrowing events beginning around 11:00 pm on October 12, 2026, and to be honest, while we might all be laughing now, there’s not one of us who would have felt any differently than Mrs. McBride did in her time of crisis.

There’s no better person to tell the story than Mrs. McBride herself and she wrote:
“Professionalism with a side of redneck was just what I needed last night. I was getting ready for bed when I realized that I fed my children and not my self so I went to the kitchen to get a little snack. As I grabbed a plate I realized I was not alone! After the initial shock wore off and my husband told me he could not leave work to come help me. Burning the house to the ground was also not a great option. I decided I needed an adult. I called my sister-in-law and she was also unwilling to help, but ChatGPT let us know that our local animal control or sheriff office could help. Who better to wrangle a slithery critter than the team of rednecks at DPSO. A few giggles were had when they first got to my home because I was on the table and not getting off. After a few minutes of looking, the slithery friend decided to grace us with his presence and let us know just where he was: under the cabinets in the worst place possible. With the help of a brave soul and a few kitchen tools the little guy took the ride of his life through the air and into a paper bag. Cheers were had all around because not only did they relocate the unwelcome visitor, but not a single child in the house was disturbed. They all woke up this morning none the wiser. Although, I never want to call DPSO, but they never make me feel silly for calling even when it’s just a baby chicken snake in the kitchen looking for his own late night snack.” – M. McBride…
