A murder trial at the Caddo District Courthouse in Shreveport this week features possible competition over a dating partner and a body stuffed into the trunk of a Toyota.
A Caddo Parish grand jury indicted Kenavion Baker, now 29, on suspicion of the second-degree murder of Terry Morris, 20, on the afternoon of July 5, 2023. Other charges were armed robbery, theft of a motor vehicle, aggravated assault with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a felon.
According to information in police reports about the crime, one witness told detectives the defendant and victim may have been “talking to” the same love interest. The information includes a witness report that the defendant may have offered to do some work on Morris’ car — a vehicle featured often in his YouTube videos — but that it was “possibly a setup.”…
