It sounds like some kind of secret society or shadow organization, but Shreveport-Bossier City’s ‘Committee of 100’ is dedicated to the betterment of our community. The Shreveport-Bossier Committee of 100 was created in 1961 and the purpose of the group is to, ‘study, confer, and act upon any matter, civic or economic in character, which may be deemed to affect the welfare of the Cities of Shreveport and Bossier, the Parishes of Caddo and Bossier, and the surrounding areas of Northwest Louisiana.’ The group does this through support of, ‘any educational, charitable or civic enterprise deemed to promote the welfare of those entities.’ The activities or organizations being supported must be ‘nonpolitical in character’ and nonprofit.
