SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A prominent downtown nightclub owner will not face charges related to his arrest in mid-December.
The Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office rejected a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm brought against Tim Huck, owner of Phoenix 2.0 and Sand Bar.
Huck was arrested on Dec. 16 when he was accused of pointing a gun at someone and threatening to kill them inside Phoenix 2.0. Shreveport police said they made the arrest after receiving witness statements since video of the incident inside Huck’s office was not captured.
In an interview with KTAL’s Michal Murff, Huck explained that he felt he was being robbed and pulled the gun to defend himself. Huck says he feels the District Attorney’s office was correct in rejecting the charge.
“Rejected is kind of a big deal. Rejected means we have no case. We don’t have enough of a case to present it. Which means rejected means you shouldn’t have been arrested in the first place,” said Huck. “I knew from day one that there was no validation to the charge. You know, with a charge, it’s not just that you have to prove it, you have to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt, and there was no possibility of that because I didn’t break any laws and didn’t do anything wrong.”
