CADDO PARISH, La. ( KTAL/KMSS ) – Two men accused of a fatal shooting in the parking lot of a motel on Monkhouse Drive in Shreveport received life sentences for Valentine’s Day, according to the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office.
On Wednesday, a Caddo Parish judge handed down life sentences to Johnathan Crenshaw and Terence Felix, both of Abbeville, Louisiana, for the August 20, 2019, shooting death of 45-year-old Derrick Terrell.
According to the DA, Terrell was shot multiple times in the parking lot of the Knight’s Inn motel in west Shreveport. He and Tamala Ware, a woman he was seeing at the time, engaged in a dispute at the inn, where she had a room.

Following the dispute, Crenshaw and Felix reportedly chased Terrell through the and shot him multiple times . After the shooting, Crenshaw fled in Terrell’s vehicle, and Felix fled the scene in his own truck. Ware, who was also arrested shortly after the shooting, testified against Crenshaw and Felix. She also fled the scene and faces second-degree murder charges related to Terrell’s slaying.
