An off-duty Shreveport Police officer was killed in a motor vehicle collision in west Shreveport Friday afternoon. Matthew Rhoden, 37, died in the wreck that occurred at 2 p.m. at West 70th Street and Pines Road. According to police, his vehicle struck the front of a van that turned into his path, then veered into a vacant house and rolled over.
